    attended a event at La Fiesta on Sat and LL picked me up for lunch at Compass point. Decided to
    settle down for Jack Place for their set lunch. Their set lunches are usually very valued for money
    cos it comes with a drink, soup of the day ,main course ( 2 choices), desert for less than 20 bucks ( excl service charge and
    GST). You can also do upgrade for your meal too!

    LL spoiling me with escargots cos previously i dont even touch them at all but now i do..so he very happy…haha

    our soup of the day - broccoli soup. not too creamy for me. something very light. 
    our main course. he took steak, i took fish. of cos, i do get pieces of steak from him lol. i still prefer wagyu lol. although nothing special to mention about their main course but definitely is worth the price you paid for lol. 
    Deserts. Abit disappointed with their cakes. haiz. but its ok. i dont really fancy deserts nowadays lol.
    overall their food is ok and reasonably price. Jack place has been in the market for many many years. even the country mania has closed its last restaurant i think. Jack Place has also come up with many new dishes and valued set meals for wow many customers too!

  • of chinese new yr lunar day 8 dinner @ Golden treasure restaurant

     a newly opened restaurant next to aljunied MRT station. this restaurant is actually opened by LL’s col and offers very good zi char dishes at a very reasonable price. for drivers, fear not, there is a open air carpark that is just opposite the restaurant.

    during chinese new year, they do offer chinese new year set dinner at a very reasonable price with super good quality food.

    Yu sheng – this is my 3rd time from them this year. lol. my 3 lou hei yu sheng is from golden treasure restaurant. their yu sheng uses salmon fish and is not very sweet like others. you can also order yu sheng for takeaways.

    sharkfin fish maw soup – generous with ingredients. not like some zi char stall, you can really see the sharkfins inside and the fish maw is so much that every spoonful of it contains at least 2 pieces lo

    spinach with abalone. – only thing i wish is for more abalones haha..or maybe thicker ones haha

    deep fried soon hock. many would say that only the unfresh ones will be used for deep fried but this soon hock is really fresh and the meat is really tender!

    steam prawns. the prawns are fresh from water and steam to retain the freshness!

    salted egg fried chicken. this dish is actually not from the menu but we did a swap with roasted chicken. and m glad we made the choice cos this dish is really very gd! the skin is very crispy and the meat inside is very tender!

    KL hokkien mee. quite surprise that they actually use the authentic kl fat noodles to cook this dish! with super servings of lard , the noodles is very gd! this is also a swap dish from the menu. we replace the crispy noodles with hokkien mee

    CNY is one of my fav holiday of the yr  especially it long holidays ( at least 2 days one shot with a half day for New Yr EVE) and it is also a very good reason to indulge in gd food like yu sheng, steam boat, dining in restaurant for CNY dishes..and best of all, my mum cooks her specialty dishes during this period too! although she does it ocassionally la…anyway…here are my fav ones that mummy cook for my relatives the other day. simple dishes but is super yummy!

    pomfret fish – the fish is deep fried and a sauce is then cooked and pour on top of the fish! my fav fish

    Braised duck with sea cucumber! my fav too!
    Steam chicken in chicken essence…
    steam egg white with crab meat!
    fried bee hoon
    cauliflower!
     
    yumz. looking back at the pictures make me drool again…yumz

    i was thinking whether to share this here in my blog but after long thoughts, i decided to and hope my experience can help may other dog owners if they have existing problems with their dogs and wishes to give up. I also hope that this will also let them know that there is still ways to help them and never give their dogs up when their dogs having agressive and other problems.

    As you read previously from my blog, Ronnie had seizures previously and each seizure will cost damage to his brain and his behaviour. From a very manja dog, he will turn into a very autistic dog and turn very agressive suddenly. Me and my mum suffered 2 big bites from him after his last seizure incident. despite this, i never wanted to give up cos he is very precious to me. and so, i took the approach “body talk”. Body talk is a technique that uses body to heal itself. I wouldnt say that it is not working but is just that the process takes time and i really need to find out what Ronnie is thinking about and i just want to talk to him.

    So i got a dog whisperer contact from SOSD Dr Siew. If you watch the video about old boy, you will get what i mean! without hesitation, i drop the dog whisperer an email. She uses telepathy to talk to dogs and i find it very amusing on what Ronnie wants and thinks.

    so these are the questions i need to ask Ronnie

     
    Is he ok to live with me once i get my house? is he ok to be alone in the house when i go to work whole day? Is he ok if i get him another companion to keep him company so that he wont feel alone at home, i promise my love for him will never change. then we would also want to find out why is he so aggressive previously and if he can show us any signals that he is feeling sick or down or moody. also can help me ask him not to bark super early in the morning cos the neighbours will complain.

    and this is his reply (tru the dog whisperer) lol
    Ronnie : he wld like to stay with u.. he say if u get companion forhim must be female, pretty and docile. He say he needs to protect himself thatswhy he behave aggressive.. he feel its his job to wake the family up for theday that’s why he barks..

    then i asked another question

    Me: oh i hit a problem le
    he attempt to bite me this morning while i try to clean hisears…

    Ronnie: meds sting his ear

    Me :can ask then how?

    i want to clean his ear but he always turn agressive. iscare

    he doesnt want d meds tats why.. n he knows u scared so hedo on purpose so u wont wanna apply for him

    hahaha.. he ask u just flip his ears up n air it can alr

    then hor, can help me ask him nt to bark and just wake me upby rubbing his face against my hand? haha

    Simply cannot stand my Ronnie boy haha…so funny.
     
    Anyway, my point here is that, never give up your dog so easily. they really do understand you and love you alot. just that the way they express their love is not the same like human beings. they do feel for you like u feel for them. =)

    Valentines Day seems to be during the CNY period for a couple of years. Last yr, Valentines is around the same period too. While everyone is celebrating CNY, the couples also celebrating Valentines Day.

    Last yr, our VDAY dinner is at the Cliff, this yr we had ours at the CLAN haha. i happen to stomp a deal for a VDAy dinner at the Clan at 299++ per couple with free flow of champagne.after looking at the dinner menu, we went ahead with the reservation @hungrygowhere. and i am glad that we did cos the food is fantastic! and the service there is great too! We had a wonderful time! thanks The Clan for hosting our Vday Dinner!

    as part of the Vday celebration, they also help the couples to take polariod pictures too ( although i bought mine but din use in the end)

    Some information about the CLAN
    The Clan restaurant opened early June in 2012 ( about 8 mths old already). they serves modern european cuisine with Jap influence ( very similiar to Dozo, heard this is open by one of the chef from Dozo). the restaurant offers diners five and six course menu for lunch and dinner. the menu is price reasonably at $42.80 ++ (5 course) and $62.80 ++  (6 course).  the customers are allowed to choose the dish they would like for each course from the cold dish to the desert. There are also ala carte menu to choose from. The restuarant offers premium dishes at a very reasonable price and is a very romantic place for couples to celebrate their special day like Vday / Wedding Anniversary!

    the dinner menu is a 6 course meal where there are 2 dishes per course. Each course has a very unique theme.the dishes is specially designed and prepared according to the theme.

    Heirloom tomato garden w chamomile tomato consomme jelly and mandarin orange granita , toasted foccacia – very “garden” feel dish that opens up your appetite of the day!
    cured salmon w green mango salad and martini dill jelly – my favorite! the salmon is really very gd and it goes well with the green mango salad and the martini dill jelly!

    Pan seared Foie Gras W Fig Confit and Balsamico Reduction, Vanilla Kumquat Confit – Foie gras, crispy on the outside but soft inside and melts in your mouth….
     
    Poached Lobster W Sauteed Wild Trumpet Mushroom and Paresan Crisp – a very different taste from the usual way of cooking lobster and i love it!
    It’s you and no one else
    Espuma mushroom soup w summer truffle – very good!  the soup is not as hot as i think. if the soup is hot ( nt warm), it would be better ( i feel)
    Never doubt you are the one
    Poach Cod fish W olive crisp, salmon roe nage and garlic chip – cod fish, never tried poached before too but i love it. the fish is soft and the meat retains the juiciness. so you dont get very tough and dry fish meat!
     
    Herb crusted baby lamb rack w confit of seasonal vegetables and madeira sauce – my first time tasting lamb and i love it. i thought there will be a odd funny taste with Lamb meat but no. the meat is very soft and tender. the crust outside is very crispy!
     

    Giving my life for eternity
    La Royaltine Chocolate Cake, Bailey’s ice cream and chocolate foam – Chocolate lovers will love this. for me, i love the bailey’s ice cream most haha.

    wild berries consomme w summer berries and beetroot foam. – where is my strawberry? lol. only after i post this picture, i realize there is strawberry in this dish haha..anyway. i love the consomme!

     
    if you take the first letter of every theme, it will form the word “LOVING”! how sweet and creative is that!
     
    Overall, the food is great and definitely will go back there for more. Parking is alittle hassle there unless u opt for Valet parking which cost you 8 bucks. Of cos, with valet parking, u do not need to worry about the carpark aunties and you can enjoy your dinner @ The CLAN!

    time really flies. wow, today is the last day of the CNY long weekend aka long holiday. it seems that i have not rest enough, my nose is still running. haiz.

    so hows your reunion dinner on Sat night? this year we had steamboat and i bought kurbuta pork belly from MMM ( changi point). they are really good and we love it!

    the pork is thinly sliced and easy to cook (shabu)!

    this is the first time we went to Porn’s Sexy Thai restaurant. it was a super cold night (after rain) and we thought it might bea good idea for us to eat something spicy and hot. so Thai food is the one!

    the place is very chirpy decorated and with super funky look. the staff there are also super friendly too!


    the price is reasonable for the quality of the food we paid. although we only ordered 4 dishes + 2 drinks – olive fried rice,phat tai, fried kai lan and tom yam goong ( coconut milk), it add up to a total bill about 50 plus bucks. which i think is still consider reasonableafter we are stuffed.
    Olive fried rice – very different style from mummy’s version. maybe the type of olive they use is different? although the rice is good buti still prefer mummy’s version cos mummy’s version has mushrooms in it and mushroom is my favorite vege lol.
    Phat tai – also very different from those we had before. the grinded peanuts is not sprinkle on top of the phat tai but fried with it.

    Fried Kai Lan – very yummy especially is fried with the fish sauce. thing with thaifood is that they use fish sauce to cook and is really good
    Tom Yam Goong ( coconut) – LL prefer the clear one while i prefer the coconut one ( sound very sinful and unhealthy but i love it!!)

    Our drinks – thai ice tea ( very gd! taste exactly the same like those in BKK!). mine is the red one which i cant rem what it is except some flower tea lol.

    Updates again. i think since beginning of the year, i started to include some personal updates in my blogpost as well. not to bored you with this but i just want to pen this down haha.

    Ronnie, getting slightly better after his body talk session and i hope that with this, he can self heal himself and become his usual manja self again. i miss it..terribly haha.

    busy with Ronnie and my personal stuff la. very tired but seeing ronnie recovering, i guess is worth it!

    Dinner @ ShasLik

    the food is russian good and they do steak in a different way. its grilled ( using skewers)  and marinated with herbs. i find the meat is abit dry but the food is ok. however, we waited very long time for our food. i guess it takes long time to prepare the food.

    mushroom soup. i din have it ..but LL did. he find it so so only

    garlic escargots, not bad but it can be more buttery. abit unhealthy but i think more butter is better haha..cos taste better

    egg millionaire. a die die must order dish. the egg is mashed and mixed with mayo n bacon. very nice. 

    shaslik steak – their specialty. there are two types. one is the normal steak and the other is the shaslik steak. be sure to order the shaslik if you wan to try their specialty

    i took the chicken instead.



    overall the pricing is ok. not very expensive except the serving for the steak and chicken is very small. i personally prefer normal way of preparing the meat haha. but is really gd to try out new flavours lo
