    Li Bai Re-visit

I love the cuisines at Li Bai and this is the second time I visit them and I got very impressed with their dishes that we decided to hold our wedding there. =P

    Food : ****1/2
    Price : ****1/2

The price is consider slightly steeper than other Chinese restaurant but u pay for what you eat. Each dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients and best effort to enhance the natural flavours and fragrances of every ingredient. So you can imagine the amount of effort that is placed in preparing each single dish.

    Peking Duck

the chef skilfully remove the skin from the duck without any trace of duck meat so you get to only taste the crispy duck skin!

double boiled chicken shark fin soup. unlike many other restaurants, you get to eat the whole shark fin and not strands of them ;P

    Soon Hock. super fresh!

Scallop Yam Ring with stirred fried peking duck! the best combination I had so far!

Lobster noodles – super love this dish.

red bean pan cake. not very sweet and the taste is just nice!

Yang Zhi Gan Lu. Mango puree with pomelo

  • of sushi good times @ itacho ~ ION

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

a very high carb lunch with the pretties. but is worth it! i always wanted to try itacho but no chance cos the queue really make me do a U-turn and look for other alternatives for lunch. this time round, we make it attempt to lunch super early lol.

i guess itacho is one of the japanese restaurant i ever tried that sells wide variety of sushi and they are really very fresh. they do have promotion on sushi what cost as cheap as 40 cents! other than that, on average is about a few bucks to X amount haha. the price is a little steep but the sushi are really fresh!

    Food : ****

Price : ***( if you order only from the promotion sushi)

    lol.

we ordered a mixture of promotion sushi and from the ala carte menu as well for sharing. is fun when u have company of friends so u get to eat a bit of everything haha

for promotion sushi, you can only order 2 times per dishes for each pax. so still quite value for money if only u order from the promotion sushi

last but not least..the pretties! always fun to lunch with you girls!

  • of little gem in a neighbourhood ~ Ghim Moh

A newly opened small size restaurant in the Ghim Moh neighbourhood (Blk 21) by a Chef from China ~ Mr zhang. Restaurant name is Zhang Ji Mei Shi Wang Guang. The dishes are mainly Sichuan delicacies and are prepared and cooked by Mr Zhang himself. Very china style of dishes and the price of the food is quite reasonable.

    Food : *** 1/2
    Price : *** (cheap)

Personally I love their fish steam boat where the whole fish is cooked in the big metal bowl and added with a lot of sour vege and their pig trotters. the pig trotters are so well cooked that the meat just melts in your mouth!

    fish steamboat

Sweet sour pork – big chunky pieces of meat.

    Stirred fried Si Ji Dou.

    Jia Xiang Toufu
    Pig trotters
Sour vege with big pork bones

Stirred fried kai lanA very typical restaurant that serves food that taste like home cooked. Nothing spectacular or fancy about the dishes but it just give you a homely feeling. Guess this is what Mr Zhang wants each of us to feel too. a typical home cooked meal sincerely prepared by Mr Zhang.

Found another place that sells my favourite spring onion dried la mian and it taste super duper good! they serve very good Xiao long bao and guo tie ( pan fried dumplings) too!

Located at Centrepoint ~ right in the middle of ochard road. very convenient to many shoppers and ppl like us ( who work near sommerset area). The price is very reasonable despite is located in Orchard Rd.

    Food : ****
    Price : ****

    Pork Ribs La Mian

Deep fried big meaty pork ribs ( unlike some, they really give you ribs with no meat) ~ very crispy, tender and juicy.

    My spring onion la mian.

Very generous with the spring onions. I love it! The noodles is very gd.

    Xiao long bao

these small little baos are filled with a lot of soup and the meat is very soft. so becareful when you eat them while hot!

Guo tie ( pan fried dumplings)

Athough is pan fried, but the juiciness of the meat in the dumpling is the same as Xiao long bao and I love it!

so I found another yummy place for my favourite la mian and Xiao long bao! all thanks to YJ! really enjoy dinner with u and I miss u!

  • of a taste of steamboat full of collagen

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

Heard and read many raves on Tsukada Nojo and I always wanted to try their Bijin Nabe. the soup base of their steamboat is cooked with chicken bones that is boiled over many hours until the soup turns milky white. It was then solidify and served in jelly form. The steamboat is 25 per pax that comes with standard ingredients like prawns, veges and chicken meat balls and noodles ( 3 types for you to choose from – glass noodles, thin egg noodle, mochi mochi noodles like thick ramen).there are also side dishes for you to choose from.

it comes with 4 types of sauces for you to dip your food in.
the main ingredient – the solidify chicken soup. as you can see, it is very much like jelly and it will take approximately 5-10 mins for it to melt totally. once it is melt, it is highly recommended that you drink the soup for its original taste!

Next you can take the chicken meat and eat it with the sauce provided.
then u can start to put the veges and chicken meat ball into the steamboat
last but not least, use the soup to cook your noodles!
We also ordered some side dishes which is their nikumaki and nikumaki yuzu. basically is pork wrap rice. according to the staff, it is their famous dish!
Overall you can really taste the collagen soup and the price is quite value for money!

    Verdict out of 5 * :
    Taste : ****
    Price : ***
Return customer? Definitely! but I will make sure that I be there early cos if u reach there around 7 plus or 8, you might not get a seat and even eat it! very popular and pack with ppl!
