  • of we are back! Majestic Restaurant

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

This time round, i brought my parents there for dinner! i miss their claypot chicken rice and their speciality chilli sauce!

We did ordered a few dishes that is repeated (peking duck, claypot chicken rice and garlic toufu cos are my fav mah.) and a new dish too. Shall not bored you with the repeated ones. So i just intro the new dish.

tah tah tah dahhhhhh..Mei Cai with Kai lan. I thought this dish is quite interesting. i always have Mei Cai with pork belly but with Kai lan? this is something new. The unique taste from Mei Cai can blend perfectly with Kai lan. The Mei cai doesnt taste like those usual ones, it is those sweet type and the kai lan is stirred fried. so the two different taste give a brand new taste to this dish! i love it!

hehe. hope you like this new dish too if you dine at Majestic restaurant!

Next, is my OOTD. I just found another new website that sell very nice clothes and bags (other than my usual ones like lovebonito, klarra and thevelvetdolls). this website is call LoveMi, they actually have a existing shop 14 Keong Saik Road too!

I love this black dress that makes me look super slim and pretty!

Next is the Satchel bag! it comes in different colors! Pink, blue, classic brown..etc. This one is 2 tone that comes in Black with purple! love it!

the design of the bag is super trendy that i can match it even for casual wear on weekends! oppa gandam style! lol. just a top with shorts! so get yours too @lovemi.com!

Simple dinner together with family is always the best moments i have every weekend and i am glad that LL made an effort to dine with my parents even though he is very busy with work. Usually he will do a quick dinner before heading back home to work from home. To allow him to go home earlier to his work, we usually dine somewhere near my place. So we settled down for Crystal Jade last Sun.

A few simple hearty dishes that marks the end of my weekend and now is the beginning of the new one.

Xue Cai ( snow vege it called? nt very sure but it seems that we cant buy this vege in the market. so far, i only managed to eat it in restaurants like Crystal Jade. something like preserved vege aka mei cai but it is fresh.) with  mushrooms and glutten. the glutten is made of bean curb skin and i love it

Sweet and sour pork again. haha. but this time is restaurant standard.

due to the recent haze and my mum is not feeling that well, LL ordered ginseng soup for every of us! yum. some restaurants will use the normal chicken instead of the black one. personally, i prefer to use black chicken for boiled herbal soup as it is more nutritious and taste better. The chicken is well cooked as the meat is super tender.

Next is the salted fish with toufu and minced chicken meat! i love this dish alot! goes very well with rice! the toufu is super soft even after deep fried. the chicken meat is also very smooth and tender!

verdict : I will definitely return for more and will order the salt fish dish again! yumz!

Located at a corner of Blk 721 Clementi West St 2, the big signboard that is next to the entrance to the carpark you can hardly missed. This is the favorite zi char location we used to patronize when i was studying in uni. My daddy will drive us there for dinner over the weekends and now it is our turn to drive daddy and mummy there for dinner =) .

the food still taste very much the same as before. They are very famous for their fish soup with XO too. I prefer theirs over the Holland V one as theirs is less bitter in taste ( maybe the wine that they add is not as much..lol)

this time round we order some other dishes. It happen that my mama is on vegetarian diet and they make an exception to cook hor fun with veges only. lol. and this simple gesture makes my mama super happy lol. cos the usual vegetarian stall in the market is closed.so she is very happy with her hor fun

for us, we are more heckcareless over religion diet lol. especially for me. muahaha. anyway, we ordered tapioca leaves with fermented bean curb. this is my fav dish especially if i sense myself getting a sore throat soon and still have cravings for tapioca leaves lol. the vege is not overcooked and doesnt taste that old which is very much to my liking. =P

next is seaweed soup. this soup comes a little blend to me. but i m super happy with the amount of seaweed they put inside lol. m a fanatic when comes to seaweed, i can eat them cooked or even those like titbits all day long.

sweet and sour pork. usually is the dish that i sentence the stall to “live” or “die”. fortunately, they managed to “live” but if i compare it with the one at my place, they will “die” lol. cos i taste more flour than the meat itself.

last but not least, their homemade toufu with cereal. this dish is quite new to me. i quite like their toufu. it is mixed with fish paste and deep fried. it taste alittle similar to cereal prawn except the prawn is replaced with toufu. overall this dish is quite appealing to me and i will order it again.

will i return for more? Yes of cos! never forget this zi char place that accompany me all these while!

Sin Bedok North BBQ chicken wing . very crispy and juicy.

85 Bedok North Oyster Omelette. i love their chilli sauce. taste heavenly with the oyster omelette. although i dont take oyster la but i take the starch thingy plus the egg haha.

Lin Yuan Satay. the satay meat is not too dry as compared to others.

Chan BBQ. a little too spicy for me but i love it haha.the sotong is not overcooked so it doesnt taste like rubber. The sting ray is quite good too.

last but not least, the famous bak chor mee. yum.

last but not least, us! after attending a wedding lunch reception before heading down to expo and then dinner after =)

    Our Dinner for the night

Lugang fried rice. each single grain of rice is coated with yummy delicious egg yolk that makes it look like gold on the plate. with super generous of chinese sausage and prawns..the fried rice not only looks colorful but also appetising for me.

cereal fried rice. never thought cereal and fried rice can taste so good together. is like bff. lol.

stirred fried season bean with salted egg. this is my favorite dish! yum. the salted egg is coated evenly on each bean. if you are a salted egg lover, you will definitely love this too!

This Zi Char coffeeshop is located at one corner of 1036 Sembawang road. The place is alittle dark at the carpark area ( offers free parking) but is brightly lilted at the coffee shop area.Overall the food is quite nice and reasonably price.

    Food : ** 1/2
    Price : **1/2
Customer service : ** ( the waitress just dump the menu at us rudely and when we ask her to take our orders, she simply ignore us. )

we ordered a few dishes and maybe it is not their signature dish. and we weren’t told which are their signature dish due to their bad customer service ma. refused to even talk more le.so we just ordered what we like

Hotplate toufu.this dish is quite ok. generous with the ingredients and not too salty. but i feel the dish is abit not “hot” when served.

Fish Maw soup. we love this. also, very generous with the amount of fish maw. the soup is not too thick unlike some.

stirred fried beans. not too bad except the beans is super long and makes it difficult to eat

butter pork ribs. strangely i dont find any bones in any piece of the meat. the meat is a little too tough for me and too “jer lat” (over cloying) for my liking. but if you take 1 or 2 piece is still ok.

    Dinner @ Majestic Restaurant.
This is my first time to Majestic Restaurant @ New Majestic Hotel. Heard much raves from LL on their super delicious set lunch and they really make me drool lol.

Majestic Restaurant is the award winning restaurant that features Cantonese cuisine by the internationally renowned award winning chef Yong Bing Ngen. they served set meal for dinner at 68 bucks to 88 bucks ( per pax) or ala carte dishes for approx 10-20 bucks per dish.

For our dinner this time, we ordered some of their dishes from their ala carte menu. and they are super good!

    Overall
Price : *** ( for 6 pax, we spend approx 400 bucks including tax)

Will i come again? Yes! and i will be back for more of their famous signature dishes!

Their Peking Duck. the skin is very crispy and i love their peking duck sauce! I discovered a new taste too, it taste superb with their chicken rice chilli sauce! love it! i love their chilli sauce!

we asked them to stir-fry the rest of the duck meat and eat it as a lettuce wrap dish

chicken soup is very refreshing for us.

homemade toufu is very smooth and soft. I love it but its a pity that the toufu sauce taste a little bland.

Kurobuta pork chop! i love this dish! the pork is a little fatty though but overall this dish is really good!

claypot chicken rice. I m so in love with this dish! their chicken rice is cooked in the claypot as in those hainanese chicken rice type! their chilli taste super gd with the chicken rice! i love it love it love it!

ending our dinner with their durian desert! i was kinda disappointed with their mao shan wang durian with gula melaka cos it is freaking expensive and it is just purely durian meat. 10 bucks for 1 scoop ( super small scoop) =(

i think a much worth will be their deep fried durian ice cream lol

    Our new family member

  • of Jpot-ing @ Vivo city

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

like many of my post, i always wanted to try new food but need kakis la. so on the very faithful thursday, i got 2 kakis to go jpot with me haha. Jpot (opened by jumbo) is located at Vivo city #01-53. always packed but lucky for us, we did not need to wait very long.

there are various soup based to choose from ( about 4-5). you can choose 2 pots for sharing or 1 pot for each pax. however, we took 2 pots for sharing (jpot special broth and tom yam soup based ~ refillable). The ingredients is ala carte based and each plate cost about 0.5 ( for egg) until  X amount ( cos they sell fresh seafood so it depends on the weight ). The ingredients comes in small plates which i find the quantity is very small so we ended up ordering repeated ingredients or double the quantity for each order ( imagine chicken hotdog comes in 2 pieces only lol per 1 order).

You also need to mix your own sauce for the food which i feel it will taste a little weird with sesame sauce + chilli paste + soya sauce + x sauce lol. so i insist on sesame sauce only lol

    Overall
Food : *** ( Tom yam is not as spicy. Jpot special broth is good,)
    Price : **** (slightly steep)
Customer service : ** ( we asked for refill but it took them ages to do it. We had to ask multiple staff to refill and only 1 managed to do it in the end.)

some of the must try ingredient i feel : fried bean curb, prawn noodles, meat balls

  • of Taiwan day 8 ~ returning to Taipei

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

on this day, we did our last minute shopping at Jiu fen before returning to Taipei city to pick up our wedding photos. we did a quick shopping and lunch before we rush down to the train station to go bk to taipei. we found this small restaurant at the old street of jiu fen selling very good beef noodles!

we reach taipei at approx 4pm and check in back to sunroute hotel before heading down to the bridal studio to pick up our wedding photo. wanted to do a little shopping until my mum called me to tell me Ronnie passed away and left me crying non stop at the train station. we both cried cos Ronnie is very dear to us and i couldnt believe that he is gone like that. although i m mentally prepared but still i couldnt take it. LL seeing that i cried so badly that he tries to comfort me by bringing me to eat shabu shabu for the last time in taiwan. cos he knows that i love shabu in taiwan but sadly, although i was sitting infront of premium beef i dont hav the appetite to eat ..the food just taste bitter to me although LL keeps telling me it is good. but anyway, i still managed to take some pictures of the food.

after dinner, we headed bk to hotel and then i broke down again the whole night until the next day. until today, i still cannot understand y Ronnie choose to leave me or is it because i told him not to hang on anymore.but nevertheless, i m thankful that LL is with me during this period of time and been giving in to my nonsense when my emotion is at rock bottom.
