This is the first time we explored out of Taipei city and into Jiu Fen and Ping Xi. We heard alot of nice sceneries at Jiu Fen and Ping Xi. Ping Xi is very famouns for Tian Teng ( sky lantern) when u reach there, you can see alot of people flying their Tian Teng. Just for experience, we also bought one ourselves. we wrote our wishes on the lantern itself and send it flying into the sky.

and yes, it is all bullshit. my wish did not come true. cos i wrote for Ronnie to get well but Fuck. he passed away the next day. What the hell. it only teaches me one thing. all these are bullshit. and to cheat money !@#@#$%%$#%

we made a mistake for buying tickets to ping xi only. should have gotten the day pass but we only have limited time to go to Ping Xi so…

the train is always fully packed with people.

our tian deng (sky lantern) with our wishes..ok. mine for Ronine doesnt come true but i hope the rest will..damm. else i will b cursing the shop until no day no night. we got one with different colors on each side and each color represent individual meaning like health, wealth, career, happiness
there are 4 sides and you can write your so call wishes on each side

after they lit up the lantern, you got some time to camwhore with your master piece before letting it fly high up to the sky.

    and then up it go!

LL took a picture of me at the railway track lol. realize  i wear the same thing yrs when i travel to Taipei lol. except now is dr Mart shoes haha. the trusty old jacket has been with me for a long long time! and it still exist! bought it when me n hazyham working in singtel le. at esprit lo.

the weather was very bad that day. drizzling the whole day. and we are lucky that we both had hood on our jackets lol.

    queuing for their sausage again…

every single shop also sell their iconic souvenirs ~ Sky lanterns. very cute but i din buy any cos i already got one in wofy which got me really pissed after Ronnie’s death that i feel like throwing the damm thing away

     taiwan sausage

picture of LL pointing to where we were

we also tried their local soft drink. kinda weird as they got a marble inside the glass bottle. for wat i also dont know haha

artistic picture of the sky lantern hanging at the rail way station on our way back

cute auntie selling pineapple tarts that shaped like kittens. very cute!

ending the day with Ta- bao dinner from the night market at Rui Fang food centre haha

  • of taiwan trip day 7 part 1 ~ Seafood delights at kee lung

    Visit my website @ http://shirleylye12.wix.com/princessmic

we woke up late in the morning with breakfast hanging on our door. lol. i think this trip is the most nua trip i ever had. sleeping to make up to the sleepless nights i had previously but rest seems to be not enough. until today i still feel so sleepy and tired which i dont understand y. =(

    bag of breakfast…

supposed these are the daily breakfast in taiwan lol. pancakes with egg, bread with egg and harsh brown  very local delights. and we love it.

after a quick brekkie, we nua again for awhile before we ask Tim to pick us up for lunch haha. super nua ~ the two of us. but i am glad as we can get to spend some US time together away from work and meanies from work ( for me la)

Tim took us to Kee Lung Seafood market where we can select our own seafood. Very similar to Zhu hai style where u select your own seafood and then look for the restaurant to prepare the food for u. Seafood in Kee lung is really cheap and super fresh!. we had crab ( female crab), fish (grouper), sashimi ~ Salmon belly (treat from Tim), lobsters! the owner is so nice that she gave us free oysters! total about 100 ++ bucks only which i dont think we can get anything in Singapore or even Zhu hai now!

    fresh n good salmon belly!!!

so Tim brought us to this restaurant for lunch and each dish i think is cost us about 50 NT to prepare. The total cost of the seafood alone is about 60 bucks SGD.

the salmon belly! look at the clear lines of fats! i love it!

we also had some local dishes of veges ( local veges) and dumplings! very yummy!

fresh bamboo shoots. and i m eating them fresh just like the pandas lol. and is super sweet n crunchy!

oyster with wasabi sauce only. Tim told us that the oysters are so fresh that u can hardly taste the fishy smell and it is true!

for the rest of our seafood, we had it steam only. Tim told us that we do not need to cook it any style other than steaming them! and only that u can taste the freshness of the seafood! and he is right! the seafood is the freshest that i ever had! the fish, crab and lobsters are sooo good that i can drool now every time i think of them lol.
after lunch we had down to Ping Xi via the railway train..will continue more in part 2. Thanks Tim for the recommendation
  • of Taiwan Day 6 – Jiu Fen – Part 2 Kee Lung Night Market (food pictures….)

Tim drove us to Kee lung night market for dinner on our first night in Jiu Fen, it is about 45 mins drive from Jiu fen (our mingshu). The night market is very different from those we had in taipei and is packed with alot of good and yummy food. the food at Kee lung night market is also much better than in taipei. according to tim, those in taipei is too commercialized and you dont get to eat traditional taiwan food there anymore! so, guess we are in luck to meet Tim who brought us around for alot of yummy food!

there are so many variety of food to eat and we got a hard time on what to eat lol. with our limited time in Jiu fen, these are the only food we managed to try. =(.

    bacon wraps!

crispy chicken. we ate this almost everyday! so fattening..lol

some deep fried prawn ..not really nice..

fruit juice. mine is papaya milk, his is water melon milk. super good!

glutinous rice and their crab thick soup

    famous taiwan sausage

    oyster mee sua

I always wanted to try skinny pizza as i heard much raves about it from my friends and food blog reviews but sadly, din really have the chance to try it. Why? Cos no buddy lo. Finally last friday, got buddy to accompany me to try it leh! so happy lor.

so Friday, here i m, meet up with my food buddy WJ for lunch @ Plaza Sing. Skinny Pizza Located at the new extension of Plaza Sing. the place is rather small so when we are there, it is packed with alot of people. Food serving becomes really slow too as we waited for more than 30 mins for our food to arrive. =(
Pizza wise, i still prefer Mozza @ MBS ( also thin crust). The Skinny pizza crust is too crispy for my liking. =(. but i do recommend their truffle fries!

We took their set lunch special for 45 bucks. you get to choose 1 pizza, 1 main , 1 side dish and 2 drinks which i think is super value for money for us ( cos the food can serve 3 pax lo). to make it super value for money, we ordered their super expensive items in the menu hahaha. anyway, this is what we had.

the elegant black pepper prawn linguine – 25 bucks
smoke turkey swiss – 25 bucks
    truffle fries – 7 bucks
    drinks – approx 10 bucks??

in total, the food we ordered is worth more htan 45 bucks muahahaha.

our pizza. we took their smoked turkey swiss. the combination of blueberry jam and ham and cheese is really good. i love their pizza except for their over crispy crust.

The elegant black pepper prawn linguine. a little too peppery for us but the prawn is really fresh and big! super value for money ( for our set meal)
truffle fries. we super love it!
